I call the photo Solitude. It's one of a group of photos I took with the same theme on a solo trip around the South Island. For me the trip was a time of reflection, transformation, highs and lows and the rugged wild country of the South Island makes my spirit come alive.

Title or Location: Sumner Beach ?the rocks? title glimps of warmth
early sunrise at sumner beach notice a flickering light by the rocks. The fire had been used to keep someone(s) warm through the night. Dropping the camera height down to capture the foreground, placing the fire in the bottom third, decided to F6 the shot (low light) at the cost of blurring out the background.I wanted to try and capture the radiance of the fire glow against the darkness It also told a story and mad my eye wander all over the photos looking for clues..Thanks Bruce

This was shot on a Ricoh GR IIIx HDF during a photo walk through Newtown in Wellington, New Zealand.I don?t often use the HDF filter, but on this walk I was looking for bright highlights, reflections and layered glass.I barely stopped walking when I took this image.1/40 sec, f/2.8, 26mm equivalent.I work in the performing arts, everyday movement, work and locations always feel inherently dramatic to me.

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
